I moved to Georgia in 2012 while serving in the Army.  A few years later, I married and settled in Middle Georgia, ready for a new chapter in life.   A few years later, I discovered Pilates and a Yoga Inspired workout—and these fitness methods quickly became a powerful tool in my journey toward managing Limited Systemic Scleroderma and Sjogrens, while trying to maintain as healthy and as active as I could.

What began as a personal wellness practice soon turned into a professional calling. Moved by the profound benefits I experienced firsthand; I was inspired to become a certified Pilates instructor.

My goal is to help others discover how Pilates can support strength, mobility, and overall well-being—no matter their age, fitness level, or physical challenges.

I bring empathy, patience, and a deep understanding of the healing power of movement to every class. Whether you're managing a chronic condition, recovering from injury, or simply seeking a more mindful approach to fitness, I am committed to helping you feel supported, strong, and empowered.

My teaching reflects my personal journey—resilient, grounded, and full of heart.

“Pilates is gaining the mastery of your mind over the complete control over your body.”

Transform your body with Pilates for Rehabilitation

    What is Pilates?

Pilates originated in an unexpected setting—a World War I internment camp—rather than a modern gym. Joseph Pilates, a German physical trainer, developed this exercise system during his detainment in England. Utilizing his expertise in anatomy, yoga, and gymnastics, he designed distinctive exercises incorporating springs attached to hospital beds to aid in the rehabilitation of fellow internees.

Following the war, Pilates relocated to New York City, where he established his first studio. He referred to his approach as "Contrology," highlighting the integration of mind and body through disciplined movement.

    Benefits of Pilates?

    ·  Strength improvement: Enhances core stability and strengthens muscles surrounding joints, contributing to overall stability.

    ·  Augmented balance and stability: Targets coordination and balance to help reduce the likelihood of falls.

    ·  Posture enhancement: Promotes better posture, which assists in decreasing vertebral stress.

    ·  Low-impact: Exercises are gentle on the joints and can be modified for mat or reformer use.

    ·  Potential bone density support: Incorporates resistance and weight-bearing movements that may aid in building bone mass and reducing fracture risk.

    Why Should I Try Pilates?

Pilates helps you isolate and control your core muscles, building practical strength. It's suitable for all fitness levels, with modifications available as needed.

    • Discover how your breath can assist or challenge each movement.

    • Boost your coordination, strength, and mobility through smooth, efficient exercises.

    • Experience mental and spiritual renewal.

    • Build greater self-awareness and confidence.

    • Connect your mind, body, and spirit.

    • Improve your well-being and overall quality of life.

How Is Pilates Different From Other Exercises?

Unlike workouts that target one muscle group at a time, Pilates encourages full-body movements. It uses both your arms and legs to support balanced muscle growth while minimizing stress and strain.

    Health Benefits of Pilates

    • Decrease the risk of spine fractures by reducing thoracic kyphosis

    • Thoracic extension exercises strengthen the back extensor muscles and also may reduce the risk of fracture

    • Decrease the risk of falls by practicing balance

    • Improve awareness to avoid positions and movements that increase the risk of fracture.
